HOW WE STARTED?

It all began with a curiosity about Armenia’s 200 indigenous grape varieties. Knowing that most remain unexplored, we wanted to do something different.

We began searching for these grapes but quickly realized the real challenge was finding farmers who still grow them. It wasn’t easy.

Not all farmers know the true identity of their grapes, especially rare ones. To ensure we had the right ones, we sometimes conducted DNA tests.

Experimentation became our way to learn and grow. Before our first harvest in 2023, we tried countless methods to ensure we didn’t miss our chance and have to wait another year.

We made three Pet Nat wines using three unique grape varieties from two Armenian regions. To our surprise, all three became amazing natural sparkling wines.

Today our lineup includes six unique Pet Nats, and we’re just getting started.

WHAT IS PET NAT?

Pet Nat 1

01.

Pet Nat, short for pétillant naturel, is a natural sparkling wine. We start by fermenting freshly pressed grape juice. During this process, sugar transforms into alcohol

Pet Nat 2

02.

Before fermentation finishes, we bottle the wine while it still holds its fresh and fruity flavors. This traps natural carbon dioxide, creating bubbles without the need for added sugars.

Pet Nat 3

03.

A few months after settling, we disgorge the wine to remove sediment, leaving it clear yet slightly fuzzy.

Pet Nat 4

04.

Ready to enjoy! Pet Nats are young, fresh, and full of fruity flavors, unlike other sparkling wines.

CONNECTION
WITH

TUSHPA

TUSHPA x Lab is the experimental branch of TUSHPA. While TUSHPA honors tradition and craftsmanship, TUSHPA x Lab explores new ideas, rare grapes, and innovative methods. The experiments never stop, with both sharing a deep passion for Armenian wines and offering unique ways to enjoy them.

SUSTAINABLE IMPACT

At TUSHPA x Lab, instead of investing in our own vineyards we collaborate with over 20 local farmers. This approach gives us access to high-quality grapes, even in challenging climate conditions, while supporting Armenia’s growing wine industry. By sourcing from skilled growers, we create unique natural wines that our customers love, making it a win-win for everyone involved.
